Democratic Freedom Caucus

From Democrats Wiki

The Democratic Freedom Caucus (DFC) is a progressive, pro-freedom caucus, which promotes the values which the Democratic Party was founded upon: individual liberty, constitutional democracy, and social responsibility.

The Caucus was focused on supporting New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson for President during the 2008 Presidential Primaries.

The DFC supports the Bill of Rights, which describes what is meant by individual liberty and constitutional limits on government.

The DFC advocates progressive, freedom-oriented policies, which emphasize:

  • Promoting the public interest rather than favoritism to special interests
  • Building-in incentives for improving the quality and efficiency of public services
  • Upholding civil liberties
